Historical

"Support and Communication" are words that sum up the spirit of VISA-CENTRE.

VISA-CENTRE is a non-profit organization founded in 1987. It is approved and recommended by the Department of Education, Culture and Sport (DECS) of the Canton of Valais, but is independent.

VISA-CENTRE helps and advises secondary school pupils and students in planning their extracurricular activities. When it was first set up, the aim was to provide them with a summer job or information on language study abroad. This original and functional concept, offering a wealth of information, quickly aroused the interest of students.

In 1992, VISA-CENTRE added a new service: summer courses and support throughout the school year. In this way, VISA-CENTRE not only provides appreciable help to students in difficulty, but also continues to offer jobs to university students, since it is they who teach these courses.

Until 2006, VISA-CENTRE was very active in the field of summer jobs, having provided work for many young people each summer. Unfortunately, due to a number of unfavorable economic and logistical factors, it was no longer able to continue this activity in a suitable and satisfactory manner.

However, VISA-CENTRE is still as present and available as ever for language stays, providing all the essential advice needed to make the right decision for a satisfying and successful stay.

VISA-CENTRE is a truly useful and efficient link between those who want to learn and work, between those who want to improve their language skills and the language schools in which it has placed its trust.
